Pickets will be held outside Office Angels’ recruitment agency to demand the payment of wages unfairly withheld from a worker.
Afterwards we’ll move onto the ATOS Healthcare medical assessment centre to show solidarity with Incapacity Benefit claimants and protest against ATOS profiting from the administration of unfair tests and the kicking of claimants off benefits.
Office Angels:
Since March the Solidarity Federation (SF) has been involved in supporting a victimised former Office Angels temporary worker. Dan worked for Office Angels for three days in December of last year. He was assured by the company that the lack of a time-sheet would ‘not be a problem’. However, Office Angels are refusing to pay him the wages he is owed – falsely claiming he only worked for one day, despite them having called him at work on his third day.
So far pickets have been held in London and across the country. As Office Angels have still not paid Dan the wages action needs to be stepped up.
Office Angels is a subsidiary of Adecco so we are asking for Adecco branches to be targeted as well.

ATOS Origin:
Disability activists, claimant groups and anti-cuts campaigners have called a week of action against poverty pimps Atos Origin beginning on Monday 9th May
Atos Origin have just begun a £300 million contract to carry out ‘work capability assessments’ on all of those claiming Incapacity Benefit.
It is claimed assessments are to test what people can do rather than what they can’t. The real purpose is to strip benefits from as many people as possible.
This testing system has already led to people with terminal illnesses and severe medical conditions being declared fit for work and having benefits cut. GP’s are ignored in favour of decisions made by Atos Origin’s computer.
Plans announced for the scrapping of Disability Living Allowance have also revealed that this intrusive testing is likely to be extended to everyone on some form of disability or health related benefit.
To date around 40% of appeals against Atos Origin’s decisions have been successful.
